Blue-fronted Dancer
Argia apicalis

The adult Blue-fronted Dancer is a slender damselfly found around sunny stream margins, riversides, ponds, and wet meadows. It perches low on vegetation or stones, then darts out to catch small flying insects such as gnats, midges, and mosquitoes. Males are noted for the bright blue color on the front of the body, a useful field mark among related dancers. Like other damselflies, it is harmless to people and folds or partly holds its delicate wings while resting.
