Larder Beetle Larva
Dermestes lardarius (larva)

The larva is a brown, hairy grub often found in dried animal remains, old nests, stored meats, hides, feathers, and museum specimens. It feeds by chewing dry protein-rich material, including skin, hair, and preserved insects. When ready to pupate, it may bore into wood, cork, insulation, or packed food to make a protected chamber. Its stiff hairs and habit of hiding in cracks make it harder for predators to handle.
