Indian Meal Moth
Plodia interpunctella

The adult is a small pantry moth often seen resting on walls or making short, fluttering flights around stored-food areas. Adults do not cause the food damage directly; their main role is mating and laying eggs near suitable dry foods for the larvae. They are most recognizable by the two-toned forewings, pale near the base and coppery-brown toward the tips. Although weak fliers compared with many outdoor moths, they are well adapted to finding food stores inside human buildings.
