Fur Beetle Larva
Attagenus pellio (larva)

Fur beetle larvae live in dry, dark places such as bird nests, stored textiles, carpets, and cracks in buildings. They crawl slowly while feeding on wool, feathers, fur, dead insects, and other protein-rich animal remains. Their banded, hairy bodies and tail brush of bristles help them wedge into tight hiding spots and deter small predators. This is the household-damaging stage; the adult does not eat fabric.
