Asian forest scorpion
Heterometrus longimanus

Adult scorpions in Scorpionidae are mostly nocturnal hunters of deserts, scrublands, forests, and rocky ground, sheltering by day under stones, bark, or in burrows. They ambush insects and small vertebrates with their pincers, then use the stinger to subdue prey or defend themselves. A tough exoskeleton helps reduce water loss, and many glow blue-green under ultraviolet light because of compounds in the outer cuticle.
