Red-bordered Emerald
Nemoria lixaria
A delicate green moth of woodland edges, gardens, and shrubby habitats, usually active around dusk and at night. Adults fly in search of mates and may visit flowers for nectar, relying on agile fluttering rather than force. Its green wings with reddish edging help it rest inconspicuously among leaves. The adult stage no longer grows, instead focusing on flight, dispersal, and reproduction.
