Grey Silverfish
Ctenolepisma longicaudatum

Adult grey silverfish are long-tailed, wingless insects often found in homes, libraries, attics, and other dry indoor refuges with pockets of moisture. They are nocturnal scavengers that graze on starches, cellulose-rich material, dried foods, glue, and detritus rather than hunting prey. Their flattened bodies and rapid, fish-like movements let them vanish into seams, baseboards, and crevices. A notable trait of this species is its long life and repeated moulting even after maturity.
