European Hornet Larva
Vespa crabro (larva)

A pale, soft-bodied grub that develops inside a paper cell in a sheltered nest cavity, often in hollow trees, roof spaces, or wall voids. It remains in the nest and is fed chewed insects and other animal protein brought by adult workers. The larva uses small mandibles to take food and grows through several molts before pupating. A notable exchange occurs when larvae provide nutritious secretions that adult hornets consume.
