Cobweb weaver
Steatoda nobilis

A small comb-footed spider often found around walls, sheds, window frames, and other sheltered corners where it builds an irregular tangle web. It waits in or near the web for insects and other small invertebrates, then bites and wraps prey with silk. This species is medically notable because its venom can cause a painful bite in people, though serious effects are uncommon. It is sometimes called the noble false widow because its rounded dark abdomen can resemble that of widow spiders.
