Striped Killifish
Fundulus majalis

Adult striped killifish live in coastal bays, estuaries, tidal creeks, and sandy shallows along the Atlantic coast of North America. They forage near the bottom and in the water column for small crustaceans, worms, mollusks, insects, and fish eggs. Adults make quick darting movements and often remain close to cover or shallow water when threatened. A notable feature is their strong salt tolerance, allowing them to move between brackish marshes and near-marine shorelines.
