Plantain Squirrel
Callosciurus notatus

The adult Plantain Squirrel is a quick, arboreal squirrel of Southeast Asian forests, parks, orchards, and plantations. It feeds mainly on fruits, seeds, nuts, flowers, bark, and sometimes insects, using sharp incisors to gnaw tough foods. Active by day, it races along branches, flicks its tail when alarmed, and gives sharp calls to warn of danger. Its three pale side stripes make it one of the more recognizable tree squirrels in its range.
