Common Gliding Lizard
Draco volans

The adult Common Gliding Lizard is an arboreal agamid of tropical forests, plantations, and wooded edges in Southeast Asia. It eats mainly ants and termites, moving vertically along trunks and launching into long, controlled glides with expanded wing-like membranes. Males defend display perches with head bobs, dewlap flashes, lunges, and short chases. A notable adaptation is the elongated ribs that support the gliding membranes, allowing travel between trees without descending to the forest floor.
