Southern Green Stink Bug Nymph
Nezara viridula (nymph)
Wingless nymphs live on leaves and stems in warm fields, gardens, and crop edges. They feed by piercing plant tissue and sucking sap from shoots, pods, and developing fruit. Young nymphs often show bold black, red, yellow, or green patterning that helps warn predators of their bad-tasting defensive chemicals. They molt through several instars before developing full adult wings.
