Tobacco Hornworm Larva
Manduca sexta (larva)

A large green caterpillar found on tobacco, tomato, and related nightshade plants in warm fields and gardens. It spends most of its time feeding on leaves, using camouflage to hide among stems and foliage. The rear horn is not a stinger, but the larva can rear up, thrash, and use bitter plant chemicals from its diet as defense. Its rapid growth makes it a serious crop-feeding stage before it leaves the plant to pupate.
