Three-banded Hunch-back
Cerastipsocus trifasciatus

This small barklouse lives on tree trunks, branches, and other bark-covered surfaces in eastern North American woodlands and yards. It feeds by scraping up films of fungi, algae, lichens, and organic debris rather than hunting other animals. Adults have rooflike wings with dark banding and a noticeably arched, hunch-backed outline. Though harmless to trees, it is notable for helping clean bark surfaces as it grazes.
