Common Blackbird Fledgling
Turdus merula (fledgling)

A Common Blackbird fledgling has left the nest but still spends much of its time low in vegetation, gardens, woodland edges, and hedgerows. It can hop and flutter short distances, hiding while the parents continue to bring insects, worms, and soft fruit. Its brown, speckled plumage helps it blend into leaf litter and shade. Young blackbirds often leave the nest before they can fly strongly, which is normal rather than a sign of abandonment.
