Jaguar
Panthera onca

Adult jaguars occupy forests, floodplains, wetlands, and river edges across the Americas where cover and water are available. They are solitary ambush hunters that eat deer, peccaries, capybaras, caimans, turtles, and many other animals. A notable trait is an exceptionally powerful bite for a cat, often used to pierce skulls or armored prey. Strong swimming lets them hunt effectively around rivers as well as on land.
