Banana Orbweaver
Trichonephila clavipes
Adult banana orbweavers live in sunny openings, forest margins, and gardens where flying insects are common. They sit on large golden orb webs and subdue moths, flies, bees, and other prey with venomous bites before wrapping them in silk. Females are much larger than males, and their strong yellow silk is notable for its toughness and shine.
