Mourning Gecko
Lepidodactylus lugubris

Adult mourning geckos live across many tropical islands and coastal regions, thriving around tree trunks, buildings, gardens, and cargo areas where insects are abundant. They are nocturnal climbers that stalk small arthropods, sip nectar or fruit juices at times, and retreat into cracks during the day. Their mottled brown-gray coloration helps them vanish against bark and weathered walls. Most populations are all-female and reproduce by parthenogenesis, with eggs often glued inside protected crevices.
