Blue Whale
Balaenoptera musculus

Blue whales live in open oceans worldwide, migrating between cold feeding grounds and warmer breeding areas. They feed almost entirely on tiny krill, lunging through dense swarms and filtering seawater through baleen plates. Despite their immense size, they are generally solitary or found in loose pairs rather than tight groups. Their low-frequency calls can travel vast distances through the ocean and are among the loudest sounds made by any animal.
