Blue Shark
Prionace glauca

Adult blue sharks roam widely through the open ocean, especially in cool to warm pelagic waters far from shore. They feed mainly on squid and schooling fish, but also scavenge when the opportunity appears. Their long, streamlined bodies make them efficient long-distance swimmers with sudden bursts of speed. A notable trait is their vivid blue countershading, which helps conceal them in the sunlit upper ocean.
