Dusky Leaf Monkey
Trachypithecus obscurus
Adult dusky leaf monkeys are arboreal colobine primates found in southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Myanmar, and nearby islands. They live mainly in forest canopy, feeding on leaves, shoots, fruit, and flowers with a specialized stomach that helps digest tough plant material. Adults move with agile leaps between branches and use calls, stares, and body displays during alarm or conflict. A notable feature is the pale eye rings and muzzle that give the dark face a spectacled appearance.
