Domestic Cat Kitten
Felis catus (kitten)
Domestic cat kittens are born in sheltered dens, homes, barns, or other protected corners chosen by the mother. They feed on milk at first, then begin practicing stalking, pouncing, biting, and clawing during play as their coordination improves. Young kittens are vulnerable and rely on hiding, crying, and their mother’s care, but their hunting instincts appear very early. A notable fact is that kittens are born with closed eyes and ears and only become fully mobile after several weeks.
