Cattle Yearling
Bos taurus (yearling)

Yearlings are young cattle old enough to graze independently but not yet fully mature, commonly found in pastures, rangeland, and farm enclosures. Their diet is mainly grasses, hay, silage, and other rough plant material processed by a multi-chambered stomach. They become stronger and more assertive than calves, using shoves, kicks, and head bumps during play or dominance contests. Horns, when present in the breed and not removed, are still developing at this stage.
