Marbled Cellar Spider
Holocnemus pluchei

The adult marbled cellar spider is common in cellars, sheds, garages, and warm building corners, especially around loose, irregular webs. It preys on small insects and other spiders, approaching trapped prey with long legs and a venomous bite. When disturbed, it often vibrates rapidly in its web, blurring its outline and making it harder for predators to target. The species is recognized by its slender body, very long legs, and marbled patterning on the abdomen.
