Sycamore Lace Bug
Corythucha ciliata

The adult sycamore lace bug is a tiny, flat true bug found mostly on the undersides of sycamore and plane tree leaves. It feeds by piercing leaf cells and sucking sap, often causing a bleached or stippled look on heavily used leaves. Adults can make short flights and also hide in bark crevices or leaf litter during colder periods. Its most notable feature is the delicate, lace-like pattern of the wings and hood-like pronotum.
