Common Myna
Acridotheres tristis

The adult Common Myna is a bold starling of open country, farms, parks, towns, and city streets, especially around people. It walks confidently on the ground, flies between perches with direct wingbeats, and feeds on insects, fruit, grain, nectar, food scraps, and small animals. Adults are vocal, territorial birds that may peck, chase, and dive at intruders near nest sites. A notable fact is that this species is highly adaptable and has become invasive in many regions outside its native South Asian range.
