Spotted Dove
Spilopelia chinensis

The adult Spotted Dove is a common bird of open woodland, farmland, parks, gardens, and towns across much of southern and eastern Asia, with introduced populations elsewhere. It feeds mostly on grass seeds, grains, and small fallen plant matter while foraging on the ground. Adults fly with quick, direct wingbeats and defend space with pecks, wing slaps, and display postures. Its black neck patch spotted with white gives the species one of its most recognizable field marks.
