Rainbow Lorikeet
Trichoglossus moluccanus

Rainbow lorikeets inhabit forests, woodlands, mangroves, parks, and flowering gardens along eastern and northern Australia. They are highly active parrots that spend much of the day flying between blossoms and clambering through branches. Their diet is dominated by nectar and pollen, supplemented with soft fruit, seeds, and occasional insects. A notable adaptation is the brush-tipped tongue, which helps sweep up nectar and pollen from flowers.
