Central Bearded Dragon Hatchling
Pogona vitticeps (hatchling)
Newly hatched central bearded dragons are tiny desert-edge lizards that shelter among low shrubs, leaf litter, and warm sandy ground. They feed mostly on small insects and move in quick stop-start bursts between basking spots. Even at this age they can gape, bite, flatten the body, and rely on mottled colors to avoid predators.
