Banded Huntsman Spider
Holconia immanis

The adult banded huntsman spider is a large Australian huntsman often found under loose bark, on tree trunks, and around sheltered human structures. It hunts at night, sprinting after insects and other arthropods instead of building a prey-catching web. Its broad, flattened body and banded legs help it blend against bark and slip into tight spaces. The venom is useful for subduing prey, though bites to people are generally not considered medically serious.
