Red House Spider
Nesticodes rufipes

The adult red house spider lives in loose, tangled cobwebs in corners, sheds, walls, and other sheltered human-made spaces, especially in warm regions. It waits in or near the web for flies, ants, mosquitoes, and other small arthropods, subduing them with silk and a venomous bite. Adults have reddish legs and a rounded brownish abdomen, with females usually larger than males. Despite being venomous, it is not considered medically dangerous to people and is often overlooked as a quiet indoor predator.
