Golden Huntsman Spider
Olios giganteus

The adult golden huntsman spider lives in warm desert and scrub habitats, often resting beneath bark, rocks, or in wall crevices during the day. It is a wandering nocturnal hunter that does not build a prey-catching web, instead chasing or ambushing insects and other arthropods. Its flattened body and long laterigrade legs let it squeeze into narrow shelters and move quickly across surfaces. Despite its large leg span, its venom is mainly used for subduing prey rather than posing serious danger to people.
