Alexandrine Parakeet
Psittacula eupatria

A large green parakeet of forests, wooded farmland, plantations, and urban parks across South and Southeast Asia, with feral populations established elsewhere. It flies strongly between feeding trees and uses a powerful red bill to crack seeds, nuts, fruit, blossoms, and grain. Adults are social and noisy, often giving far-carrying calls while moving through the canopy. A notable feature is the very long tapered tail, which makes the bird appear much larger in flight.
