Flat Jumping Spider
Holoplatys planissima
The adult lives under loose bark and in narrow tree crevices, where its broad, flattened body blends against the surface. It stalks small insects and other arthropods with sharp vision, then makes a quick leap and finishes prey with venom-bearing fangs. A notable feature is its extremely low profile and sideways-splayed legs, allowing it to slip into spaces far thinner than most spiders can use.
