Jovial jumping spider
Apricia jovialis
The adult jovial jumping spider is found on sunny foliage, bark, and garden plants where it actively searches rather than waiting in a web. It hunts small insects and other arthropods by sight, creeping close before making a sudden precision jump. Its large forward-facing eyes give it excellent depth perception, and adults may use conspicuous leg movements during display and courtship.
