Golden Huntsman Spider
Olios argelasius
Adult Golden Huntsman Spiders live in warm, dry places such as scrub, tree bark, stone walls, and occasionally houses around the Mediterranean region. They are active hunters that roam at night, chasing insects and other arthropods instead of building capture webs. Their flattened bodies and long sideways-set legs let them slip into narrow shelters by day. Females guard their egg sacs, a notable parental behavior for a solitary spider.
