Fringed Jumping Spider
Portia fimbriata

The adult fringed jumping spider occupies vegetation and web-rich forest microhabitats across parts of Southeast Asia and northern Australia. It specializes in hunting other spiders, often entering their webs and using slow approaches, detours, and deceptive silk vibrations. Its diet also includes insects when available, but web spiders are a notable target. This species is famous for flexible problem-solving, testing different routes and signals when stalking dangerous prey.
