Ocelot
Leopardus pardalis

Adult ocelots live in tropical forests, mangroves, savannas, and dense scrub from the southern United States through Central and South America. They are mostly nocturnal and solitary, moving quietly through cover to ambush rodents, birds, reptiles, fish, and other small animals. Their powerful forelimbs, sharp claws, and precise bite make them capable climbers and efficient close-range hunters. A notable fact is that each ocelot has a unique pattern of rosettes and stripes, like a natural fingerprint.
