Sharpshooter Leafhopper
Oncometopia alpha

The adult sharpshooter leafhopper occupies sunny vegetation, including grasses, shrubs, vines, and cultivated plants. It feeds on xylem sap with piercing-sucking mouthparts and moves between plants by quick jumps and short flights. Adults are alert and evasive, usually escaping before a predator gets close. A notable fact is that sharpshooters can expel excess watery sap in visible droplets, which gives the group its common name.
