Maned Duck
Chenonetta jubata

An Australian duck of open wetlands, flooded paddocks, pasture, and eucalypt woodland, often feeding well away from deep water. It grazes more than many ducks, eating grasses, herbs, seeds, and some insects, while also dabbling in shallow water. Pairs commonly nest in tree hollows, and the male is notable for the dark, mane-like streaking along the head and neck.
