False Blister Beetle
Darwinylus marcosi

The adult is a small, hard-bodied beetle from Early Cretaceous amber, associated with resin-producing forest habitats. It likely visited plant reproductive structures and fed on pollen or other soft plant tissues, as fossils of Darwinylus marcosi are linked with ancient pollen. Tough elytra shield the delicate flight wings folded underneath. Its most notable role is as evidence that beetles were important plant visitors long before many modern flower pollinators became common.
