Seashore Earwig
Anisolabis littorea

A sturdy coastal earwig that shelters in sand crevices, under beach debris, and among stranded seaweed. It is mostly nocturnal, scavenging dead material and hunting small arthropods with mandibles and curved forceps. Adults are wingless or flightless in practice, relying on quick runs and tight hiding places rather than flight. The enlarged rear forceps help grip rivals, prey, and attackers in close quarters.
