Sumatran Orangutan
Pongo abelii

The adult Sumatran orangutan lives mainly in lowland and hill rainforests, spending most of its time in the trees. It feeds heavily on fruit but also eats leaves, flowers, bark, insects, and small amounts of animal matter when available. Adults build a fresh sleeping nest from branches and foliage, often high in the canopy. Mature males can develop broad cheek pads and make long calls that carry through the forest.
