House Wren
Troglodytes aedon

The adult House Wren lives in open woodland, thickets, gardens, farms, and suburban yards where cavities are available for nesting. It moves restlessly through low vegetation with its tail often cocked, probing bark and leaves for insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. Males are known for loud, bubbling songs and for stuffing nest cavities with twigs before a mate chooses a site. Despite its small size, it is bold around nest sites and may scold or dive at intruders.
