Termite
Neotermes connexus

A mature drywood termite spends most of its life concealed within timber, branches, or dead wood. It feeds on cellulose, avoids open air to prevent drying out, and uses narrow galleries for movement and defense. Adults may develop into different colony roles, including winged reproductives that disperse during suitable humid conditions. A notable feature is its ability to live and feed inside wood without needing contact with soil.
