Cigarette Beetle
Lasioderma serricorne

The adult is a tiny, oval, reddish-brown beetle found around stored foods, tobacco, dried botanicals, warehouses, pantries, and museums. Adults are active crawlers and capable flyers, especially in warm, dim conditions, but most feeding damage is caused by the larvae. They seek mates and lay eggs on suitable dry goods so the next generation can tunnel into the food. Their head is tucked downward under the pronotum, giving the body a humped appearance when viewed from the side.
