Tropical Bed Bug
Cimex hemipterus

The adult tropical bed bug is a flattened, reddish-brown insect of warm climates, commonly sheltering in beds, walls, luggage, and furniture near resting humans or animals. It feeds only on blood, piercing skin with slender mouthparts and usually feeding under cover of darkness. Despite having small wing pads, it cannot fly or jump, relying instead on crawling and concealment. Adults can survive for long periods between meals, making hidden infestations difficult to detect.
