Black Carpet Beetle Larva
Attagenus unicolor (larva)

The larval black carpet beetle lives in dark, undisturbed places such as woolens, stored furs, lint, nests, and cracks near household debris. It crawls slowly through dry animal-based material, feeding on keratin, dead insects, hair, feathers, and similar scraps. Its dense brown bristles help protect it from handling and make it easy to recognize under magnification. This is the destructive feeding stage, shedding its skin repeatedly as it grows.
