Ring-legged Earwig
Euborellia annulipes

Adult ring-legged earwigs are nocturnal ground-dwellers found under stones, bark, leaf litter, compost, and in warm cultivated areas such as gardens and greenhouses. They are omnivorous but often predatory, using their mandibles and rear forceps to seize small insects, mites, eggs, and other soft prey while also scavenging plant and animal material. The species is wingless, so it relies on running, hiding, and squeezing into narrow shelters rather than flight. A notable trait of earwigs is maternal care, with females guarding eggs and early young in a protected chamber.
